From Homelessness to an Executive Suite

"From Homelessness to an Executive Suite"

Take a look at the inspiring story of a man named Orlando Ward who was once homeless and is now an executive after admitting himself to a rehabilitation center. Ward's downfall began almost three decades ago when he suffered a devastating knee injury during his sophomore year of college. He was never able to recover. "That put me on a different trajectory in life", Ward said. "There was a period of lonliness and isolation that made me make decisions that I wouldn't have made in the past". His life then went on a downward spiral that lasted 17 years, during which he lost several jobs and never got sober despite numerous rehab attempts -- until 1999, when he landed at Midnight Mission, an outreach program that offers services to the homeless as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. His main skill on the court was rebounding, and that's exactly what he did at Midnight Mission. After 10 years at the organization, he was named its vice president of operations, the highest position attained by any person who came off the street. This is a story of one of the MANY things that can be done through having faith and determination! All things are possible through Christ who strengthens us. If Ward can, YOU CAN! #BeInspired!

T.I.Speaks To Students at West Ridge Academy

"T.I. Speaks to West Ridge Academy"

Rapper T.I. "Tip" Harris speaks to students at West Ridge Academy in Utah. He explains to them the importance of education, being successful, setting goals and pursing their dreams. This is a very motivational speech coming from a very humble man, to say the least. I believe we need more artists that give back to the youth and encourage them to think for themselves, not just doing what's "in" at the moment. It's fairly easy for kids to take heed from someone who is known to make huge impacts on people's lives...why not give them something positive to follow? Check out the videos above and see how T.I. offers a few words of wisdom and encouragement that could change your mindset of what's important to you.

Relations- a poem written by Dominique Conston

"Relations"
Mistakes are lessons.
Men and women have a hard time connecting.
Depending upon the situation,
it could cause confusion ...
A woman wanting love,
while a man is willing to take all of the above.
Wise men are rare.
You know, the ones that actually care?
Sometimes women are unappreciative.
Why?
Because they want the "perfect" relationship.
Negative, it doesn't exist.
Some are aware, yet others are in denial.
Scared of the past, hiding secrets,
just so it'll last.
Insecurities of a female.
A man is no different,
and can be far more worse.
He'll be deeply hurting, but pride won't let it show.
That special woman will know.
She'll talk and confide until everything is on the table.
Her word is a promise for life,
 true definition of a wife.
Words are more than statements,
they become actions.
Every woman has that power...
just not the mindset.
Men and women want the same thing,
just in different ways.
What is trust?
Cliche to say a must,
but without it... a relationship is no such.
Number one issue is trust.
A woman will know within seconds whether or not you have her trust,
whereas, a man could be a bit more rational.
A wise man will view every aspect.
One who isn't, will make a decision
and not know what to expect.
That is the true determining factor.
Men and women, against boys and girls.
Wisdom is in the spirit, generating from the heart.
A man with a soul, and a woman with knowledge,
shall never be apart.
