"Humane" - a poem written by Dominique Conston

"Humane"

Humane.
We are all human right?
Ironic question some would say.
But that's not my moral this time.
We have to clearly understand the meaning of life.
God knows our next step.
Which put us on the edge.
Always wondering when & why?
Although, living in doubt puts us in a tough situation,
We tend to over think most of the time, but the goal is far over head.
When you think, you drift off.
Drifting into vague thoughts of what ifs.
What if what?
Listen to your thoughts.
Don't get lost in thinking about the negativity.
Doubting belief leaves grief.
It's obvious it's on your mind.
Faith guides you in so many ways,
It's the ability to believe no matter what,
No matter how one day or month will go.
A little faith will go far and beyond.
True belief that the past shall be gone.
Human mind functions in varieties.
We're all different,
Some more strong minded than others.
But created equal under similar circumstances.
Typical in some chances,
We all have the power just not the will.
Take control of the wheel,
You're the driver, in most cases you don't even have to steer.
You control the cruise.
Losing is all in the mind.
Blessings come daily to all.
God works, giving everyone the test.
Disbelief comes in some,
Wicked minds.
The human mind is extraordinary.
Pain shall be numb.
Pick your kind.
Smart lost or dumbfounded?

"Diced Pineapples" - 8Shotz

"Diced Pineapples"

Brandon "8Shotz" Cook was born and raised on the south side of Chicago in the Jeffery Manor. He began rapping at the age of 8 and developed a knack for creative word-play. Growing up his influences were Jay-Z, Kanye West, Juvenile, and Lil Wayne. 8Shotz put rap on hold for a while, while he obtained his bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. After feeling like something was missing he decided to put his efforts and passion back on the microphone.

8Shotz believes that he can be a major influence on the hip-hop scene and focuses on music that makes people want to have fun, spend money, and become intimate with someone. With songs like "Mr. go 2 Deep", the self-proclaimed "Ladies Man" boasts about his sexual prowess. With other songs like "Rock This", a sure-fire club hit, he raves about being the man on the scene whom every man wishes they were.

8Shotz is currently working on his first official mixtape due to drop beginning of the summer 2013

"Jonylah Forever" - Lupe Fiasco

"Jonylah Forever"

Chicago's own Lupe Fiasco takes the time to mourn over angel Jonylah Watkins in his latest release "Jonylah Forever" . The track is passionate and heartfelt to say the very least. The truth behind the song is, we go and live our lives after hearing such a tragic event but what about the loved ones of this innocent 6-month-infant? How does her mother move on from this? There was a whole future ahead of this little one's life and that was taken away from her without a second thought over foolish a gang-related beef. Is this what's cool? How many of our angels have to die in vain before we WAKE UP and realize that we are killing our own future!? If we don't get it together, soon they'll be no more of us left. Is there any hope for the future? I believe so, but it takes brother and sisterhood; unity. BE A MAN & PUT THE GUNS DOWN! Take a stand and make a difference for our youth, if not for ourselves. Live because Jonylah couldn't! Rest In Paradise baby girl.

How Bad Do You Want to Succeed?

How Bad Do You Want to Succeed?

As easy as it is for everyone to say they want to succeed, how many are willing to sacrifice something for the price of success? How many are so hungry to make it that they can't think of doing anything else? Well, if you want to succeed you have to ask yourself "How bad do I really want it?." Michael Jordan didnt become the G.O.A.T by "turning up", "drilling", or being a "hitta"...he put in hard work and dedication. The man who wins, is the man who thinks he can. Fear melts when you take action toward a goal you really want! When you want to succeed as bad as you breathe, then you will be successful! When you trying to breathe you dont care about a basketball game, you dont care about a party, you dont care about being cool, nor do you care about anybody calling or tweeting you...ALL you care about is trying to get a breath of air! So "Turn down for what?", you ask? Turn down because your future and  success depends on it! ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE! Check out the video above and #BeInspired!!!!

"My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness,
then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength."

-Michael Jordan

"Thats Money" - Toronto Frost

"Thats Money"

Toronto is another city that's making a name for itself in the hip-hop world. Flooded with talent from The Drake's to The Weeknds and even a gang of up-and comers pushing to make a name for themselves. 19-year-old rap artist Toronto Frost is another one of those Toronto up-and-comers trying to slate himself a spot in the hip hop industry. Take a listen as he spits about the struggle of growing up in the hood with dreams of making it out to be able to provide for his family. "Surviving is key", says, Frost. This is just a taste of his mixtape Gold Bricks hosted by DJ Jerry that just recently dropped on Livemixtapes.com. This is definitely what I call Antiweak!
